Believe me, we’ve all been there – life leading to you being mentally and physically exhausted. Your energy and joy zapped out of your career, friendships and family interactions.
Feeling unorganised, stressed and unable to cope with day-to-day activities are all signs of a burnout, but it doesn’t have to be like that.
Here are my tips on how to avoid business owner burnout:
Recharge your brain and enthusiasm by getting a workout in. Whether that’s yoga, pilates, running, walking the dog, or a dance class, finding an outlet that works for you to switch off and recharge your batteries is so important!
Contrary to popular belief, you cannot run off coffee alone. Consume foods that nourish your body and provide lasting, long-term energy such as hydrating with water, nuts, seeds, energizing fruits, veggies and whole-grains.
Our bodies need time to rest and recharge. Healthy sleep habits are essential for our well-being! And don’t underestimate the power of a nap.
“Naps are not just for children. Instead of having a second cup of coffee, sleep for 20 minutes. It’s the best way to refresh the brain.” –Jonathan Swerdlin
Small business owners often wear so many different hats. You’re constantly juggling 10 plates, jumping through a hoop that’s on fire and also trying to keep on top of your personal life. Everyone needs help at some point. I always encourage my clients to outsource, so if you haven’t done this already it may be time to!
For more information on outsourcing, check out last week’s blog, ‘6 Reasons You Need To Outsource’.
Make sure to unplug and schedule in family time, vacation and social activities.
