How To Organically Build Brand Awareness

When you order a drink in a restaurant, do you ask for a cola or Coke? Or reach for a Band-aid instead of saying plastic bandage? That’s because the brand awareness of these products is so well known, the actual words have been replaced with the brand name in our vocabulary.

Although this may not be achievable with your small business, that doesn’t mean you can’t do a lot more to boost awareness of your brand.

No matter how amazing the quality of your product is, how often you post on social media, your brand needs something to set itself apart from the competition. Your brand includes your company name, logo, content and everything that goes into the experience for your customers.

A few benefits of a strong brand are customer recognition, customer loyalty, confidence and credibility.

Your brand awareness approach should both focus on capturing the attention of your current customers as well as increase brand-awareness to a newer, better quality audience.  This can be significantly enhanced through organic marketing.

Here are my suggestions on how to improve your brand awareness:

Podcasts

On the quest of achieving greater brand awareness, podcasts are a way to connect with your audience authentically. They give you the opportunity to educate, inform, entertain and build trust. Podcasts can be the perfect vehicle for both introducing and raising awareness of your brand within the industry and to your listeners. The more value you can add to your consumers’ lives, the more likely they are to remember you, recommend you and have your products front of mind.

Consider what areas you or your team are experts in, or industry experts you could leverage, and create valuable content for free for your listeners to add value to their lives. When branded correctly, it can add value to your brand awareness!

Collaborations

If you’re looking to increase your brand awareness, chances are other like-minded brands are looking for this too. You want to ensure what you are selling is exactly what their audience wants and needs.

Collaborating with another product-based brand builds not only brand exposure, but trust in both audiences. If they follow your brand, and brand x is patterning with you, maybe your brand is something they should follow too.

Influencers

Getting friends in high places is another easy way to boost your brand awareness! Research has shown that people are more likely to buy from someone they feel they know, like and trust. Social media influencers are pros at this and those wanting to build their brand’s exposure have never had more options.  Investing in working with an influencer to tap into an already engaged audience is a great business scaling strategy.

Produce Video Content

Consumers are turning to video content for information more and more. If you’re still not using videos for your brand’s content, you’re missing out on a huge opportunity!

With a huge rise in TikTok consumption, other social media platforms are racing the clock to keep their audience. According to Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, Instagram will no longer be a photo-sharing platform and they will be focusing on four key areas: Creators, Video, Shopping and Messaging. So get videoing, and have fun!
