Action Taking Steps For Success

Taking action is one of the number one things I see business owners hesitate on. 

Why? Fear. 

Ideas are easy to talk about, but nothing takes more importance than taking action. 

Do you want to kick some serious business goals by the end of 2021? 

I’ve compiled the ultimate list of action taking steps you can implement straight away to take your business to the next level. 

Here they are:

Remember Your “Why”

It all comes back to your “why” – the reason you started this business. Staying in tune with what your “why” is, will get you through all of the challenges in your day-to-day life. When your “why” is aligned with your plan, you will be much more confident in taking action.

Overcome Self Doubt

Self doubt can become a huge problem for anyone, but especially entrepreneurs.  We’re constantly juggling so many responsibilities, risks and trying to overcome multiple obstacles every day. We almost don’t have time to deal with self doubt, but we need to find ways to eliminate it if we want to reach our business goals. 

When I’m feeling doubtful, I revisit this list:

  • Walt Disney was fired from one of his jobs because they thought he lacked imagination.
  • Oprah was fired from her role as an evening news presenter because she couldn’t separate her emotions from her stories.
  • Steve Jobs was fired from his own company and later went on to become CEO…again.
  • Marilyn Monroe was told by a modelling agency that she should consider a career as a secretary.

Where would Walt Disney, Oprah Winfrey, Steve Jobs and Marilyn Monroe have been if they let other people define their careers?

You need to be tough and believe in yourself and your business before anyone else will.

Be Open To Change & Innovation

This one is a MUST for anyone in business. In order to grow and remain current, constantly evolving and being open is so important. 

Take Blockbuster for example. Did you know in the year 2000, Blockbuster was approached by the CEO of Netflix with a proposed partnership. Blockbuster laughed at the offer and are now bankrupt, while Netflix is an eye watering 125 billion dollar company.

While this is quite an extreme example, the crux of the story is that you need to be prepared to change focus and shift your priorities to align with your customers needs and wants and think about what the future looks like.

Be Consistent

Consistency is key to success in EVERY aspect of your life. If you want to train for a marathon, you need to commit to daily running, stretching and cool down sessions to increase your endurance. The same goes with your business. If you want to grow and keep hitting your goals, you need to consistently make moves in the right direction. Again, refer back to your “why”.

Be consistent in your marketing, customer service, product quality and branding. Make small tweaks along the way where you see it necessary to continue growing. 

If you’re finding you’re unable to be consistent with something in particular in your business, outsource. Find someone who is amazing at the things you may not be amazing at. The consistency will pay off. 


Learn From Your Mistakes

Making mistakes in business is natural, as much as you try, you can’t escape it. Obviously, some mistakes are more detrimental than others, but take them as a lesson. If you’re not making mistakes, you may not be pushing the envelope enough, and you’re most certainly not learning. 

I want you to write a list of your last mistake and then think about what it was you learnt from it. My bet is, you changed SOMETHING as a result and I can also bet that you and your business grew in some way from that mistake. Am I right?
